About
I have always loved drawing, and especially drawing from life. Figure drawing was one of my favorite classes when I was at RISD and after college I even taught figure drawing for a bit. Then I got too busy with having babies and renovating our house and I barely ever drew. Every once in a while I would break out my sketchbook and draw one of the kids while they were napping or sitting still watching TV. But not enough to feel like I was developing my skills at all. Once my kids were in school all day, and I decided to get back into art, the only one home to draw was Clover, my big old Golden Retriever. He liked to sleep a lot, which was great for me because then I could draw him! One thing led to another and the next thing I knew I was drawing and painting all the dogs. Just like that. No, it did not really happen that easily, but I do credit Clover with my love of dogs as my subject matter.
